About the author :

Aneesh Gokhale, born March 1988, completed his schooling in Pune and is currently working in merchant navy as a navigating officer. He is an avid trekker, hiker and takes an avid interest in Indian history. He loves reading and writing. He is the author of two books.

‘Brahmaputra’ – The Story of Lachit Barphukan is his second book . His first book ‘Sahyadris to Hindukush’ , a historical novel on rise of the Maratha empire, was published at the age of 24 in 2012 .’ Brahmaputra’  was launched three years later in 2015.   His essays and articles have been published in English (DNA , Swarajya Magazine , Indiafacts)  and in Marathi (Vedantshree).He has been featured in Delhi’s IPPAI publication as also Asomiya Pratidin (Guwahati) and Kesri of Pune.  He was the Chief Guest for the Aug 15 celebrations at BVB in 2015. Also featured as a young author at Pune Intl Literature Festival. Apart from this, he has given at least a dozen talks and presentations  on Indian  history at various venues in Mumbai , Pune , Delhi and Pondicherry in both English and Marathi.
